Eye Texture Generator for Cycles and Eevee
This eye texture has been serving me for many years, I created it in order to make a large number of different eyes for different characters. It was used in many projects for many people, from commercial to personal.
And now, I think it is time I let it serve more people other than just me.
This product requires Blender 2.9 or newer.
How to use
You can append the eye ball in the Blend file to use in your project and use it on your characters. Change the parameters in the material to generate different eye textures.
The included eye ball has shape keys to let you enlarge or shrink the iris as well as the pupil.
If you want to use the procedural texture on your own eye ball, then your eye ball must have the correct UV map:
- Select your eye ball, go to the Data tab, under the UV Maps section, click the <+> icon to create a new UV map, name it accordingly.
- Select the newly created UV map
- Look at your eye ball from the front view
- Go to edit mode, select all
- Go to menu UV -> Project from View (bound)
- Put this new UV map into the vector slot of the Eye Generator
Here are some examples of what can be achieved using the included eye ball and the procedural eye texture generator:
